A Crystal Ball into LEGOLAND NEW YORK & Possibly Goshen, New Yorks Future
January 1, 2017
Rarely can one say "I know what is going to happen in the future" except in the case of the North East Mega Amusement Park planned for somewhere in New York State.
There are two not so secret pieces of information that allow one to predict the future in of LEGOLAND NEWYORK.
1.) Merlin Entertainments Strategy is Growth. Merlin Entertainment is the Theme Park Developer that pays to use the LEGO Company name for one of it's many Global Amusement Parks.
2.) A LEGOLAND park the State of Florida, built on the old Cypress Gardens Grounds has.... ....you Guessed it... GROWN since it was started 5 years ago. It's grown so much it has "leaped across the street" outside of the confines of the original Park. If you click on the photo above you can read all about how they purchased additional acreage for more than $4 Million dollars from (surprise!) a Florida Politician. Land that the Politicians family purchased a few hundred thousand...
So Why is this important?
Because, in addition to the 523 Acres legoland wants rezoned from "Agricultural/Residential" to "Commercial Recreation Overlay District" There is over 200 Acres Adjacent to the Site, owned by the same owner who sold over 100 Acres to a current seller in the LEGOLAND potential Purpose.
See the left side of the Photo here. Lots 1, 2, 3 & 4 All owned by the same owner. Totalling over 200 Acres. Interestingly enough the new zoning Goshen is considering approving for the benefit of only one Entity, MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS, includes verbage that any future additions to the Commercial Recreation Overlay Districts must meet certain criteria including (you guessed it) being a minimum of 200 acres....
Right now MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS is trying to convince a town that has a law stating "Amusement Parks are Prohibited in all districts" to write new zoning (that only benefits Merlin Entertainment) to allow the Largest Legoland in North America to Clear cut 140-180 Trees and start with phase 1 of their park. Right after they decimate 140-180 Acres of trees they will install a parking lot larger than the Galleria Mall in Middletown, right on the watershed! Right next to the Threatened Tributary of the Otterkill. All this with in a Biodiverse "priority area" known as Otter Creek. Although the DEIS says they will be clear cutting 140 Acres of Trees, Phil Royle corrected a member of our Organization at a Town Meeting and Told her it was actually 180 Acres of Trees they will be removing.
